To celebrate the achievements of Pakistani women in cricket, Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi held an event today on September 14, 2024 which was attended by Pakistani women cricketers, journalists and sports enthusiasts. Mr. Aayush Puthran, author of the book “Unveiling Jazba: A History of Pakistan Women’s Cricket” was also present on the occasion.

Pakistan Women cricket team Captain, Ms. Fatima Sana, Former Captain Ms. Shaiza Khan and Sports Journalist Mr. Faizan Lakhani spoke on the development of women cricket in Pakistan. Mr. Ayush Puthran also shared insights on writing his book on women cricket in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saad Ahmad Warraich, Charge d’Affaires stated that through their example, women cricketers of Pakistan have proven that with passion & commitment, nothing is beyond the scope of human ambition. The accomplishments of women cricketers has inspired a whole generation of young people to follow their dreams.

Today, women cricket in Pakistan has ‘star power’; faces that people can recognize and relate to; awe-inspiring struggles that lead young and budding cricketers, to follow suit, the Cd’A said.
