Pakistan issues visas to Sikh pilgrims on the eve of Baisakhi celebrations

Today, Pakistan Chargé d’ Affaires Aftab Hasan Khan visited Dargah Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti (RA), Ajmer Sharif. He presented the traditional Chaddar at the Shrine on the occasion of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti’s 809th annual Urs Mubarak, being held from 14-22 February 2021. Every year, Pakistani Zaireen participate in the Urs under the bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, 1974. This time, they could not come to India due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

The Cd’A was received at the Dargah Sharif by Sajjadah Nasheens Syed Natiq Chishti, Syed Bilal Chishti and other members of the Dargah Committee. After presenting the Chaddar, dua was offered. Dastaarbandi (traditional turban) of the Cd’A Aftab Hasan Khan was also performed on the occasion.

Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaz, as he is popularly known among his followers, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (RA) is one of the most revered Sufi saints of the subcontinent. He is the founder of the Chishtia order in the region. On his annual Urs, devotees from all across the world including Pakistan visit the Dargah. Hazrat Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (RA)’s message is that of love, compassion, humanity and harmony. His message provided spiritual nourishment to devotees from all backgrounds for centuries.
