PHC Abdul Basit addressing the Sixth Meeting
Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit while addressing the Sixth Meeting of Pakistan-India Joint Business Forum in New Delhi today appreciated the work being done by the Forum towards augmenting bilateral economic and trade relations. High Commissioner Basit said the work and recommendations of the Forum would come in handy whenever the comprehensive dialogue between the two countries commences. The High Commissioner underlined that opportunities between the two countries abound. We need to embark on a process that is both sustainable and mutually beneficial. Basit said we need to create a level-playing field that helps create interdependencies. This is also necessary in the context of promoting regional connectivity and integration. Pakistan is committed to normalizing relations with India in line with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision of a peaceful neighbourhood. The High Commissioner added that we have a long way to go but we cannot give up. We must work together to ensure peace and prosperity for posterity.
