HC hosted reception fr Ind-Pak Students Delegation
HIGH COMMISSION OF PAKISTAN NEW DELHI *** No.8/2015-PR February 12, 2015 Press Release The Pakistan High Commission hosted a reception for a delegation of Pakistan-India students and their teachers, today. A fifty (50) member Pakistan delegation including thirty (30) students from fifteen (15) schools of Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Islamabad is visiting India under the programme “Students Exchange for Change 2013-2015” to spread a message of peace between the two nations. In addition to the Pakistan delegation a large number of students from various schools of Delhi also attended the reception. While addressing the students High Commissioner Abdul Basit said: “The youth of both countries is the hope of the region, their courage, curiosity and spontaneity will surely bring a change. Young people on both sides are aware how important peace between India and Pakistan is to realize our potential. I am confident they are ready to work together to achieve the shared objectives of peace and prosperity”. The High Commissioner also inaugurated an exhibition of the artwork of the students of both countries. He appreciated the students for outstanding efforts for spreading the message of peace and friendship by their work. A leading Indian NGO “Routes2Roots” in collaboration with” The Citizens Archives of Pakistan” are engaged for exchange of students under the Programme “Exchange for Change 2013-2015″. Mr. Rakesh Gupta, founder of Routes2Roots and Ms. Swaleha Alam Shehzada of Citizen Archives of Pakistan thanked the High Commissioner for hosting the event.
