Mr. Aftab Hasan Khan, Charge d’ Affaires, Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi participated in the 409th annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Mujadid Alf Sani (RA) at Sirhind, today, and presented the traditional chaddar on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan. Special prayers were offered for those affected by floods in Pakistan.

On arrival at the Dargah, the Charge d’ Affaires were welcomed by Sajjada Nasheen Khalifa Syed Mohammed Sadiq Raza, other trustees, and members of local administration.

The Charge d’ Affaires thanked all those present at the shrine, especially the administration for facilitating his visit on the auspicious occasion of the annual Urs. On the occasion, he also highlighted the significant role of visits to religious shrines, which are regularly conducted under the Pakistan-India Bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, 1974, in the context of people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and India.

This year, the visit of Pakistani Zaireen to attend the annual Urs at Sirhind under the 1974 bilateral protocol could not take place due to visa related issues.
